We are looking for a creative and enthusiastic writer to join our team. You will work closely with our team to create engaging content for our target audience.



As a local event and news website writer, you should be a pro at research. Many of the events we like to include do not have much information, so it will be up to the writer to find creative and engaging ways to write about the events -- without the fluff.



We will supply you with plenty of events to write about it. The types of events include fairs, festivals, bar crawls, concerts, new restaurant openings, etc.



The average piece will range from 300 - 800 words, though some pieces (like round-ups) may be 1,500+ words.





Responsibilities

Writing, editing, and proofreading your text

Fact-checking information and ensuring that all articles are accurate and authentic



Requirements

One-year experience in writing professionally

Portfolio of published articles

Attention to detail

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Proficiency in written and verbal English
